Brian R. Hachey

Brian represents healthcare providers with regard to all matters related to informed consent for medical treatment. His clients include several Boston area hospitals and skilled nursing facilities in matters involving substituted judgment, guardianship and civil commitment proceedings. Brian has participated in hundreds of guardianship filings throughout Massachusetts, both commencing guardianship or amending decrees/modifying/extending existing substituted judgment orders. Brian has lectured on these matters before professional associations, hospitals and nursing homes. His practice also includes financial aspects of long term care, including MassHealth eligibility and appointment of neutral fiduciaries to facilitate timely filing and advancement of applications for MassHealth long-term care benefits. He represents fiduciaries with regard to inventories, accountings, licenses to sell real estate and complete settlements of accounts. Brian additionally represents long term care facilities with regard to matters related to involuntary discharge, matters involving delinquent accounts or fraud, appeals before the Board of Hearings and litigation in the District and Superior Courts. Brian was appointed an Associate Planning Board Member for the Town of Norwood in 2019.
